Turner-Cook Society
Donors make a difference by impacting the work and mission of Cook Children's Health Foundation with their support.
Our History
Cook Children's humble beginnings trace back to the early 1900s and two women who wanted to make a difference - Ida Turner and Matilda Nail Cook.
With a desire to care for children in need, Ida Turner helped found the Fort Worth Free Baby Hospital in 1918. A decade later, Matilda Nail Cook dedicated her oil royalties to build W. I. Cook Memorial Hospital. These two entities would eventually merge to become Cook Children's.
The humanitarian impact of these two trailblazing women is beyond measure and they're forever remembered for saving countless generations of lives
